Frankel, who had worked with Patricia Field on his feature-film debut Miami Rhapsody as well as Sex and the City, knew that what the cast wore would be of utmost importance in a movie set in the fashion industry.

This project required us to create a zine with over 20 pages, focusing on a personal theme. I chose to center mine around a movie I've watched eight times - "The Devil Wears Prada." I've been watching this film annually since middle school through college. I have a deep appreciation for its themes and message - the female protagonist's pursuit of her dreams through relentless effort and determination. It's a story that resonates with me deeply.
Fashion is not about
utility.
An accessory is merely a piece of
iconography used to
express individual
identity.
However, at the end of the movie, the female protagonist doesn't lose sight of her initial aspirations. She breaks free from the high-powered fashion world to rediscover her own dreams. This serves as a constant reminder for me not to lose sight of my own original goals.
